About Me

My name is Kimberly Afamefuna. I am a psychologist (M.Sc.), certified resilience trainer and researcher in medical and psychological health research. I also hold a degree in Business Administration with a focus on human resources, which complements my psychological perspective, particularly when working with questions of career development. In my research, I focus, among other things, on individual differences in perception and experience as well as health- and risk-related behavior. In my counseling work, I support people with personal concerns related to stress and demands, resilience, performance and well-being, as well as with questions of career orientation and professional development.

My work is grounded in psychological science and draws on different approaches, including systemic, cognitive-behavioral, person-centered and solution-focused perspectives.

It is important to me to tailor counseling to the individual in an attentive and strength-based way. I do not provide psychotherapy or treatment for mental disorders. Instead, my work is counseling-based and aims to open up new perspectives, strengthen personal resources and support meaningful change in everyday life.
